On May 28, YG entertainment introduced Evelli, the first confirmed trainee of its upcoming four-member girl group, igniting buzz across global K-pop communities.
Unveiled through a raw, unedited performance video titled “YG NEXT MONSTER | EVELLI – ‘Nosebleeds'”, Evelli, a 15-year-old talent from Australia, showcased her skills during an authentic monthly evaluation. Performing Doechii’s “Nosebleeds”, she exuded the signature YG hip-hop flair while making the track entirely her own.

What stood out immediately was her low-toned voice, a striking contrast to her youthful visuals. As the performance unfolded, Evelli delivered precise tempo control, smoothly transitioning from steady rhythm to high-speed rap, displaying an impressive command of both vocal depth and dynamics.
Her stage presence, meanwhile, was nothing short of commanding. With natural swag, expressive delivery, and stylistic flair, she brought a level of polish and charisma rarely seen in trainees her age. Fluent in Korean, English, and Spanish, Evelli is poised to be a truly global artist.

Already, comparisons are being drawn to BLACKPINK’s Jennie, thanks to Evelli’s dual vocal-rap abilities and undeniable star aura. While it’s too early to predict the group’s overall direction, her debut has set the bar high.
According to YG Entertainment on June 4, the “Nosebleeds” performance video of trainee Evelli surpassed 10 million views around 1 a.m. that day. The video also brought in more than 150,000 new subscribers to the channel.
Considering that Evelli has not officially debuted yet, this level of response is extraordinary. It reflects the intense global anticipation for YG’s next girl group, poised to follow in the footsteps of BLACKPINK and BABYMONSTER.
Since the video’s release, Evelli’s highly polished performance has received an outpouring of praise. Fans have highlighted her solid rap skills, trendy vocal tone, and a confident attitude and charming visuals that belie her young age. Many are eagerly looking forward to her debut.
YG previously confirmed the group will feature four members, with each being introduced in succession. As the company follows up on the global success of BLACKPINK and the rising momentum of BABYMONSTER, the pressure is on, but so is the anticipation.

Executive producer Yang Hyun-suk encouraged fans to keep an open mind, saying: “Please evaluate them just as they are, as you see and hear.” With Evelli’s powerful first impression, expectations for the remaining members are higher than ever.
As fans await the next reveal, one thing is certain, Evelli has already made her mark.
